(alternatively known as From Panama to New York ) is the debut studio album by Panamanian singer-songwriter Rubén Blades , recorded with Pete Rodríguez and His Orchestra . Released in 1970 under the Alegre Records label, it represents the first major U.S. recording for a then-teenage Blades, who would later become one of salsa's most iconic figures.
