Leo looked up. His eyes were no longer human; they were glowing orbs of molten lead. He didn't roar. He didn't scream. He simply spoke, and the floorboards groaned under the weight of his words.
Leo felt a surge of heat behind his eyes. His heart rate spiked. One, two, three, breathe, he told himself. But the internal rhythm was being drowned out by a low, vibrating hum in his bones.
