: According to Sean Hayes, the phrase came from a real-life trip to Hawaii with producer Max Mutchnick. One of them, after smoking pot, ordered steak and said "stake it" while holding it to someone's mouth. He believes it provides a burst of energy,

: Grace decides she wants to expand Grace Adler Designs by taking over the vacant space next to her office. After being rejected for a bank loan, she asks Karen for the money. Karen initially refuses, leading to a confrontation where Grace refuses to let Karen out of a stuck elevator until she reconsidered.
