The story follows Pierfrancesco Mai (played by Diego Abatantuono), a grumpy and cynical 65-year-old night-shift doctor who is struggling with health issues and a lack of empathy for his patients. His life takes a chaotic turn when he has a late-night collision with Mario (Frank Matano), a 30-year-old food delivery rider.
While Mario is unhurt, his bike is destroyed, and Pierfrancesco’s sciatica flares up so badly he can no longer drive. To save both of their jobs, they strike a deal: Mario will go into homes and perform the medical visits while Pierfrancesco "guides" him remotely via an earpiece from the car.
